The Countdown Is On!

I can’t believe it is only just over 3 weeks until my 24-hour walk… ! 😬

I’ve managed to get a few 20+ km walks under my belt and have been getting in as many kilometres as I possibly can, although I’m definitely starting to feel somewhat underprepared for what lies ahead! 😂

I had a very bittersweet trip back to the UK at the end of September, where I was lucky enough to spend some precious time with my beautiful Mum, Dad, big sister Emily, younger brother Sam and, of course, Bertie 🐾.  Seeing Mum and spending that time together has given me even more determination to complete this walk for her. ❤️

Sadly, Mum had to finish chemotherapy at the end of August, and her health has deteriorated quite rapidly since then, which has been incredibly difficult for our family to watch. Despite everything, she remarkably still has her very dark sense of humour and continues to show just how incredibly brave and resilient she is.

Knowing what my family is going through has made this cause even more important to me. Cancer Council provides such valuable support, not only to people living with cancer, but to their families too. I’m hoping to reach my $2,000 fundraising goal and every single donation, no matter how big or small, will help support this important work.

One day, I truly hope we can find better treatments and ultimately a cure for brain cancer. Until then, every bit of research, support and funding matters.

So, if you’re able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. ❤️ Every kilometre I walk will be for Mum, and every dollar raised will help support those affected by cancer.

Last week marked the completion of six weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Through every appointment, challenge and setback, she has faced it all with positivity, strength, grace and her trademark smile.

Now it's time for a well-earned rest with Dad, plenty of sunshine in the garden and some time to focus on recovery.

I am so incredibly proud of you, Mum. Love you always 😘

I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported my Relay For Life fundraiser so far. Thanks to your generosity, I have now raised over $1,000 for cancer council! Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference and means so much to our family.

It has also definitely locked me into completing this 24-hour walk… no backing out now! 😅
