I'm stepping up against cancer!

Hello, my name is Illyssa.

I'm walking today in honour of my grandma, who bravely fought kidney cancer. It was difficult to watch someone I love go through such a painful and uncertain journey. I’m beyond grateful that she recovered, but I know that many others are not as fortunate.

I chose to take part in Relay For Life not only to support my grandma, but to stand with every individual and family who has been affected by cancer. Too many of our family and friends have lost their lives to this devastating disease, and their memory fuels my motivation to be here.

Relay For Life is more than just an event—it's a movement of hope, remembrance, and resilience. This walk is my way of raising awareness, showing support, and contributing to a future where fewer families have to endure the pain of cancer. Every step I take is a tribute to the strength of survivors, a remembrance of those we’ve lost, and a message of hope for those still fighting.
