I'm stepping up against cancer!
Blake is taking part in Relay for Life in honour of his late Pop Hamill, who sadly lost his battle with cancer a few years ago. Pop Hamill was deeply loved by Blake and they had many loving fun moments together , and although Blake was young, the impact of losing him is something that remains part of his story.
Relay for Life is Blake’s way of remembering his Pop and walking with purpose, of honouring his memory, and of showing that even little legs can make a big difference.
I’ll be walking beside him, not only as his mum but also in honour of two incredible women in my life. My Aunty Tania and my Nan June who both lost their battles with breast cancer.
Cancer has touched our family in more ways than one. It has taken people we love deeply. It has changed us. It has left spaces that can never truly be filled.
But Relay for Life is about more than loss.
It’s about hope.
It’s about community.
It’s about fighting back.
It’s about remembering those we’ve lost while standing strong for those still fighting.
