Walking with Purpose
This year I'll once again be taking part in Relay For Life – West Coast, proudly walking with our team, The Ripple Effect.
Our team began last year as Live for Helen, honouring the life of Helen Gordon - a remarkable woman whose kindness, creativity and service continue to inspire everyone who knew her. While Helen's legacy remains at the heart of our team, The Ripple Effect represents something even bigger: the belief that one person's life can continue to touch countless others.
This year, I also walk in loving memory of others whose lives continue to inspire me.
Medgee Anne Pragassen (Mrs Pragassen), a dear family friend from Seychelles, whose unwavering love, humility and lifelong service to her community left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Dennis Altria, my next-door neighbour, whose friendship and presence reminded me that sometimes the people closest to us quietly shape our lives in meaningful ways.
And my beautiful cousin, Rubina Larue, who was taken far too young. Though her time with us was far shorter than we would have wished, the love she shared continues to live on in those who knew her.
Each of them leaves behind their own ripple - one that continues through the lives they touched.
For me, Relay For Life is about remembering those we've lost, standing beside those currently facing cancer, celebrating survivors, and supporting the families, carers, researchers and volunteers who walk this journey every day. Cancer doesn't just affect individuals - it touches families, friendships, workplaces and entire communities.
As someone who believes deeply in service and the strength of community, I know that even the smallest act of generosity can create lasting change. Every donation helps fund vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services, while reminding those affected that they are not walking alone.

Together, we can turn one step into countless ripples of hope.
