I'm stepping up against cancer!

This year, I’m taking on Relay For Life to raise funds for every person who’s ever heard the words: “you have cancer”. In 2024, more than 150, 000 Australians will receive the news. Among them are our friends, families and colleagues.

Cancer is a devastating disease for so many. For people living with cancer, their treatments can be long and stressful. For those without solutions, the future can be uncertain. It’s a concern shared by their loved ones.

But with your support, I hope to help as many people impacted by cancer as possible. Together, we can support families when they need it most, empower people to reduce their risk, speak up for communities, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

Every step I take is one closer to a cancer free future. But I can’t do it alone! Please donate to my Relay today and together, we can help Cancer Council provide life-changing support services, advocacy, prevention and research across Australia.

Thank you for stepping up. Together we’ll make powerful strides against cancer!

My Updates

April 2026

2024 was a big year. That was the year, I received my breast cancer diagnosis and without a lot of time to process, I was given a treatment plan that consisted of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery.
I chose to work as much as possible through my treatment as I wanted to maintain some control in my life and work has always been somewhere I like being.
My first round of chemotherapy started in November 2024. I celebrated the New Year by commencing my second round of chemotherapy on 1st Jan 2025. By April 2025, I was undergoing Radiation therapy and by June 23rd I was undergoing a double mastectomy with DIEP reconstruction. I spent 10 weeks at home recovering and slowly returned to work.
On Monday 20th April 2026, I underwent some more reconstructive surgery. Slowly, my breasts are being reconstructed, there will be some more surgeries required. I am home recovering, a little bruised and very swollen, but I will try and be there for at least one lap on the weekend. I am under strict instructions to NOT exercise for six weeks.  But walking is good and allowed, just not too much.
