My Updates

For Dad

It has been ten years since I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer, and in that time my life has changed in so many ways. 
The grief I face hasn't disappeared, but I've learned to hold tightly to the moments we shared and the parts of him that brought me so much happiness and love. Missing his presence at almost every moment has shown me just how deeply his loss has made an impact on my life. 

A decade on, there are so many things I wish I could tell him - the lessons I've learned, the experiences that have shaped me, and the connections I've made with people who mean so much to me and he would've loved to meet. 

Despite only being given 6 months to live at the time he was diagnosed with cancer, my dad was a strong fighter and lived on for a whole year before passing away peacefully. 
My dad gave cancer everything he had, never losing hope and his faith, even in the face of death. 
His strength and hope inspires me greatly now, and I will cherish forever. 
I am sure many others battling cancer, or having survived cancer, would not have been able to put up such a fight without the people they love by their side, supporting them deeply. 

This year at the Wyndham Relay for Life, I want to honour my dad and stand alongside others whose lives have been touched by cancer, whether they are supporting someone currently fighting, celebrating a survivor, or remembering someone they've lost.

I also hope to raise awareness for vital fundraisers, like Cancer Council, and to highlight the strength, resilience, and challenges faced by fighters, survivors, and the loved ones they leave behind.
