I'm stepping up against cancer!

This year, I’m taking on Relay For Life to raise funds for every person who’s ever heard the words: “you have cancer”. In 2023, more than 134, 000 Australians will receive the news. Among them are our friends, families and colleagues.

Cancer is a devastating disease for so many. For people living with cancer, their treatments can be long and stressful. For those without solutions, the future can be uncertain. It’s a concern shared by their loved ones.

But with your support, I hope to help as many people impacted by cancer as possible. Together, we can support families when they need it most, empower people to reduce their risk, speak up for communities, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

Every step I take is one closer to a cancer free future. But I can’t do it alone! Please donate to my Relay today and together, we can help Cancer Council provide life-changing support services, advocacy, prevention and research across Australia.

I want to give a massive Thank You to those who have donated to Relay for Life through my fundraising page. This support is going to provide awareness and resources in the fight against cancer. In 2001, I was 17, in year 12 at high school.  My dad died in March of that year from multiple myeloma, cancer in the bone marrow.  I did not know how to process it and hid my emotions and acted like nothing had happened.  It wasn't until 6 months later, sitting in a school assembly when I suddenly burst out in uncontrollable tears.  For the next 10 years, everytime I spoke about my dad I would cry.  Even now, I still struggle with my dads passing, but with help from others, and learning about myself and accepting my grief, I am strengthening my emotional wellness.  Cancer affects so many people, not just those with a diagnosis.  So this year, I am celebrating, remembering and fighting back to help other in the fight against cancer.
