I'm stepping up against cancer!

This year, I’m taking on Relay for Life for a cause that has become incredibly personal to me.

Cancer is something that affects so many people and families, including my own. I lost my Nanny to cancer, and watching someone I love go through such a devastating disease showed me just how much cancer impacts not only the person diagnosed, but everyone around them. She is a huge part of the reason I’ve decided to take on this challenge.

This year, I’m challenging myself to walk the full 24 hours of Relay for Life. It definitely won’t be easy, but when it gets hard, I’ll remind myself why I’m doing it, for my Nanny, for every family who has been affected by cancer, for those currently fighting, and for those we have sadly lost.

Every dollar I raise will help Cancer Council continue providing support services, prevention programs, advocacy and life-saving cancer research. My hope is that the money I raise can play even a small part in making someone else’s experience with cancer a little easier and bring us closer to a future where fewer families have to go through what mine has.

Every step I take over those 24 hours will be for someone affected by cancer.
