I'm stepping up against cancer!
2026 marks my 5th Relay for Life, and I’m proud to once again be part of this incredible event.
Every day in my work, I meet and support clients facing cancer. While I may not know that struggle personally, I walk and fundraise in honour of every person who has shared their story with me; those who are still fighting, those who have won their battle, and those whose memories continue to inspire me.
I Relay to remember the lives lost, celebrate the survivors, and stand beside those still on their journey. Every dollar raised helps bring hope, support and research closer to a future without cancer.
Introducing my new Relay for Life fundraising incentive: The Progressive Quilt.
Last year, I challenged myself to complete one lap for every $5 donated. This year, I wanted to create something that could grow alongside my fundraising, without making promises about how many laps I may be able to complete.
This year, every donation will become part of a quilt.
The quilt will be purple and yellow, filled with stars, swirls and other little designs, and will grow throughout my fundraising journey.
$5 = Plain Patch
A simple patch is added to the quilt.
$10 = Patterned Patch
A patch featuring a pattern is added to the quilt.
$20 = Fancy Patch
A more detailed patch with additional elements is added.
$35 = Elegant Patch
A larger, more elaborate design incorporating hand-embroidered details.
$50 = Feature Patch
A unique special patch featuring appliqué and/or hand embroidery.
$100 = A stunning showpiece Patch will be added to the quilt. Let me know if you want to see an particular theme or message.
Plus, every $50 fundraising milestone will unlock a bonus Special Patch connected to this year’s Relay for Life.
The really exciting part is that this will be a long-term project. Each year I take part in Relay, I’ll continue adding to the quilt, with a brand-new collection of Special Patch designs for each year.
Over time, the quilt will become a colourful record of the support I’ve received and the years I’ve spent fundraising for Relay for Life.
And if I’m unable to make it to Relay this year, the quilt can still grow, because this fundraiser is about all of us, not just the laps I can walk.
Every $5 adds another piece. Every $50 unlocks something special. And every donation helps support people affected by cancer.
