Walking for My Grandma

This year, I’m taking part in Relay For Life for a very special reason—my grandma. She has been through her own cancer journey and come out the other side as a survivor. I’m so proud of her strength and resilience, and she inspires me every day to keep going, no matter what challenges come my way.

She always tells me: “There is always a positive to every negative.” Those words have stayed with me, and I carry them with me as I take on this Relay. Her outlook on life, even in the hardest times, reminds me that hope and courage can make all the difference.

Cancer touches so many lives. In 2024, more than 150,000 Australians were told they had cancer. Behind every number is someone’s story—a family member, a friend, a colleague—facing the uncertainty, stress and impact that comes with a diagnosis.

By joining Relay For Life, I want to honour my grandma and help others who are going through what she once did. With your support, we can make a real difference. Together, we can fund research to improve treatment, provide services that support families, and work towards a future where fewer people have to hear those life-changing words.
