Why Team Jordan relays

In 2006, two days after our daughter's 13 th birthday, my husband was told he had bowel cancer or Stage 4 colorectal  cancer.
I was at work, our kids were at school, my husband was alone. He had expected the specialist to tell him the results from the colonoscopy were clear. It was world shattering for us.
The hardest part was telling our 2 teenage children.
I read the Cancer Council booklets on telling children and the different reactions and it really helped us process their pain and disbelief.
I had already been on the Hills Relay organist committee for a few years by then so I understood a little of the cancer journey.
David never asked, why him, was never bittter and decided to take action himself by setting up Team Jordan in 2007. We have raised around $100,000 since then plus organised retro discos, high teas and gala balls.
Sadly David lost his battle with Cancer at the age of 51. As a family we are determined that we will make a difference to other people's outcomes💜
