When we step together, we make strides.

In 2006, two days after our daughter's 13 th birthday, my husband was told he had bowel cancer ...in other words, Stage 4 colorectal cancer. 

I was at work, our kids were at school, my husband was alone. He had expected the specialist to tell him the results from the colonoscopy were clear. It was world shattering for us to be told otherwise.
The hardest part was telling our 2 teenage children.
I read the Cancer Council booklets on telling children and the different reactions and it really helped us process their pain and disbelief.
I had already been on the Hills Relay organising committee for a few years by then so I understood a little of the cancer journey.
David never asked, why him, he was never bittter and he decided to take positive action himself by setting up Team Jordan in 2007. We have raised around $100,000 since then plus organised retro discos, high teas and gala balls. 
Sadly David lost his battle with Cancer at the age of 51. As a family we are determined that we will make a difference to other people's outcomes💜

In Australia, around 134,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year.Team Jordan is determined to make sure more people (and their families!) get the support they need.
