Townsville 2026

Making Waves for a Cure 2026

In 2023, I participated in Relay for Life as Team Captain for "the Willow's Family". Our team chose to honour the life of David Jamieson (Willow's Bitumen Haulage employee of approximately 19 years, who passed away after a long battle with blood cancer). We received an astounding amount of support from our friends, family and business partners which resulted in our team taking out "Highest Overall Fundraising Team", as well as "Highest Individual Fundraiser", "Most Laps by an individual", "Best Dressed Team" and a 2nd place in the "Karaoke" contest. Not a bad haul for our first year, but gee that has set the bar high for 2026.

I am looking forwarding to stepping up again this year and if possible, help our team to outdo our previous record.

As a survivor of breast cancer myself, I know how important the support services provided by the Cancer Council are to families going through one of the most difficult times of their lives'

With your support, I hope to help as many people impacted by cancer as possible. Every step I take is one closer to a cancer free future. Please donate to my Relay today and together we can make a difference.

Thank you,

Angie Monteith

Target reached and 7 weeks to go

Thanks to a massive donation over the weekend of $2,100 from RKS Contracting Services in Mt Isa, I have reached, no surpassed my target of $3,000. So grateful for the generosity of business owners, friends and family who are really getting behind our team and Relay for Life 2026. With another 7 weeks of fundraising to go, I have decided to increase my target to $5,000.

Local money raised helps local people

Did you know that money raised by teams in the Townsville Relay for Life stay local providing accommodation for families at the Gluyas Rotary Lodge, providing transport for patients undergoing treatment to and from their appointments and providing wigs and head gear for patients who have lost their hair during treatment. Every dollar helps provide these services right here in Townsville.
