I'm stepping up against cancer!
This year, I’m taking on Relay For Life to raise funds for every person who’s ever heard the words: “you have cancer”. In 2024, more than 150, 000 Australians will receive the news. Among them are our friends, families and colleagues.
Cancer is a devastating disease for so many. For people living with cancer, their treatments can be long and stressful. For those without solutions, the future can be uncertain. It’s a concern shared by their loved ones.
But with your support, I hope to help as many people impacted by cancer as possible. Together, we can support families when they need it most, empower people to reduce their risk, speak up for communities, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.
Every step I take is one closer to a cancer free future. But I can’t do it alone! Please donate to my Relay today and together, we can help Cancer Council provide life-changing support services, advocacy, prevention and research across Australia.
Thank you for stepping up. Together we’ll make powerful strides against cancer!

My Updates
Medical Miracle
This year I’m running in Relay for Life with the “full of beans” team from the South Lismore Post Office and this is personal.
Last year, when my husband Patrick was diagnosed with melanoma that had already spread to his lymph nodes, we were told something sobering. Ten years ago, his chances of survival would have been very different, because immunotherapy, the treatment he received, didn’t exist.
Our oncologist called it a “game changer”.
Without that breakthrough, Pat’s survival rate would have been around 30%. Today, Patrick is cancer free.
That’s not luck. That’s research. That’s years of people donating to something they may never personally need… so that when someone else does need it, the treatment is there.
In the past I’ve often viewed medical research as a long shot. That breakthroughs are far away or abstract. But I’ve rightly changed my mind. They’re not. They’re real. They’re happening. We are living proof.
Australia has a strong history of medical breakthroughs, and those advances only happen because ordinary people decide to give.
Sooner or later, cancer touches all of us. If Patrick’s journey has meant something to you then please consider donating to Relay for Life via the link.
Your gift might not feel big. But research is cumulative. Every dollar builds the next breakthrough.
Someone else’s “ten years ago” is depending on what we fund today.
Lots of Love
