I'm stepping up against cancer!
This year, I’m taking on Relay For Life to raise funds for every person who’s ever heard the words: “you have cancer”. Words I heard as a 22 year old, and had no idea what my future looked like. I am beyond grateful for my journey, and how it changed my perspective on life, though it isn't always the case and that's what Relay for Life is all about. Raising funds to positively change someone's cancer journey in anyway possible.
Four years ago, we lost an integral team member of Team Laura, my Dad/Bobba. He was a true ironman throughout his cancer journey, never wanting to give up.
He is dearly missed, and remembered every day, but particularly on these two days of Relay for Life.
To honour Bobba's heavenly 70th birthday that has just passed, for the month of May I am going to broaden my usual exercise regime of running and gym-based workouts and base my goal around the sports in an Ironman. I will run 70km, swim 70 laps (of a 50m pool) and complete 70km on a bike (indoors, not on the roads (for Mum's peace of mind)).
Together, we can make a difference to someone's journey and for that, I am grateful. Thank you for supporting me and Team Laura!
