Victoria Mini Relays 2026

Welcome to Victoria's Mini Relay For Life!

Relay is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services. It’s a chance for the community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, those going through a cancer experience and their carers, to honor and remember loved ones lost and to raise money to help save more lives. Join the thousands of Australians who take part in Cancer Council’s Relay For Life each year and make strides towards a cancer free future: start or join a team in the 2026 Relay today!

Relay Your Way - Host a Mini Relay For Life

Get creative and host your own Mini Relay in your local community or at your school.

If hosting within your school, each year level could walk a lap of the oval or invite surrounding schools to compete against the highest number of laps and fundraise.

By hosting a Mini Relay, you can help Cancer Council Victoria raise vital funds for our research, prevention, and support services - getting us a step closer to our vision of a cancer free future.

School Benefits

The benefits of getting your school involved in Relay For Life

Health and PE with a twist

As Relay is an endurance event where teams are required to keep the baton moving around the track, it provides an opportunity for schools or community groups to set their students or members a fitness-based challenge.

Because the event is in support of Cancer Council and people in the community impacted by cancer, this also presents an opportunity for teachers to link the event with topics they may already be teaching around cancer, prevention and health in general, or for community groups to tie into a cause felt in their local area

     Education

    • Provides a unique opportunity for the development of key skills, including leadership, corporate responsibility, teamwork, innovation, advocacy and banking, while also building confidence and relationships with peers.
    • Offers a fun and active way to promote and educate youth on healthy living and how to reduce the risk of cancer.
    • Promotes the importance of Cancer Council Victoria ongoing work in cancer prevention, support and research to the leaders of tomorrow.

    Teamwork

    • Champions diversity and cultivates inclusivity.
    • Provides strong leadership opportunities for students, who can sign up to be team captains.
    • Values a commitment to the health and wellbeing of others.
    • Unites your school community in support of a singular goal.

    Community

    • Allows your school community to really make a difference in the fight against cancer within the local community.
    • Shows support for all those impacted by cancer, particularly those within your close-knit school community.
    • Promotes teamwork, collaboration and cohesiveness within your school community.

    Parent or Guardian

If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to complete the Youth Consent Form. This form is triggered within the registration process. You will need your parent/guardian available when registering to confirm consent and their email address. The consent form confirmation will be sent to your guardian.

All youth are required to have the consent of their parent/guardian. Failure to do so will result in the youth being unable to attend the Relay For Life event.

    Youth Team Supervisors

All participants under 18 years of age are required to have a supervisor over the age of 21 present with their team for the duration of the event. You must register your supervisor by completing the Youth Supervisor Form that is emailed to you upon registering a youth. It is the responsibility of the parent, guardian, team captain or youth to ensure the youth supervisor has completed this form. If a youth team attends Relay For Life without the required number of supervisors over the age of 21, the team will not be able to participate. Please note that for youth teams, you must have 1 supervisor per 10 youth participants.

If the youth team consists of more than 10 youth participants, Cancer Council Victoria requires that two adult supervisors be present at all times throughout the Relay For Life event.
