Hornsby 2026

Welcome to Hornsby Relay For Life!

Relay is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services. It’s a chance for the community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, those going through a cancer experience and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost and to raise money to help save more lives.

Join the thousands of Australians who take part in Cancer Council’s Relay For Life each year and make strides towards a cancer free future: start or join a team in the 2026 Relay today!

Survivors & Carers

Relay For Life is a time for our community to come together and celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who are no longer with us and fight back against cancer.

If you or anyone you love has ever heard the words ‘you have cancer’, you know how much if affects us and the people around us. None should face cancer alone, so whether you’re a Survivor or Carer, getting involved in your local Relay For Life can introduce you to others who are facing similar challenges and create opportunities for sharing stories, friendship and hope.

To honour your inspiring journey, you’re invited to be our Guest of Honour at Relay For Life.

You can choose to walk in the Survivor and Carer’s Lap of Honour or just come along for the celebrations.

We are currently finalising details for Survivors and Carers. We encourage you to pre-register for the Survivors and Carers Lap and we will notify you once details are confirmed.

Register for Hornsby Relay, and select a Survivor Carer Lap Ticket.

Our communities wouldn’t be the same without you, so thank you!

If you are having trouble registering, please contact (02) 9334 1620 | [email protected]

Gemma Crawley Award

add remove

Gemma Crawley was a bright and committed member of Hornsby Relay who lived life to the fullest however, whilst receiving treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma, she passed away on 15 December 2020 aged just 27. This Award was created to celebrate a cancer survivor who lives beyond Relay, who looks past their own circumstances and inspires others to live their best life, just as Gemma did. The Gemma Crawley Memorial Award will be presented at our Candlelight Hope Ceremony. If you would like to nominate a cancer survivor you feel is worthy of this award, please write the story of their diagnosis, treatment and journey of living with cancer and email it to: [email protected]

Candle Light Hope Ceremony

add remove

Our Candlelight Hope Ceremony is a special time when we stop to remember loved ones lost to cancer. During this ceremony we have a remembrance slide presentation. If you would like to provide images of your loved ones for inclusion in this presentation, please email their pictures, including their full names and life dates, if known, with REMEMBRANCE PHOTO in the subject line of the email to [email protected] by Friday 16 October 2026.

Thanks to our fantastic sponsors:

Relay For Life is a community event and it would not be possible without the support we receive from our community.  In particular, there are local businesses that provide us with monetary and in-kind support.

If you would like your business to become a sponsor of Hornsby Relay For Life contact contact (02) 9334 1620 | [email protected]

Parent or Guardian Consent

If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to have a parent or guardian complete a Parental Consent Form before the event. This form is part of the registration flow. All youth are required to have the consent of their parent/guardian. Failure to do so will result in the youth being unable to attend the Relay For Life event.

Youth Team Supervisors

All participants under 18 years of age are required to have a supervisor over the age of 21 present with their team for the duration of the event.

You must register your supervisor by completing the Youth Supervisor Form that is emailed to you upon registering as a youth. It is the responsibility of the parent, guardian, team captain or youth to ensure the youth supervisor has completed this form.

If a youth team attends Relay For Life without the required number of supervisors over the age of 21, the team will not be able to participate.

Please note that for youth teams, you must have 1 supervisor per 10 youth participants.

If you are a School or Youth Team, please contact Georgina Gann (02) 9334 1620 | [email protected]
