Good Day Everyone,

For those of you who don’t know me my name is Shiniquia Morris & I will be participating in the Relay For Life 2026 Far North Queensland. In 2012 our family had heard the tragic word    ‘ I have cancer’ from my dearest mum. It was stomach cancer that at the time was very rare. From trips to Townsville to receive chemotherapy treatment weekly over 6 months, it sadly had spread dramatically which led to stage 4 and  our mum taken into palliative care late January of 2013. She fought the good fight of faith & went home to be with Lord on February 4th 2013. This is just one of many stories we hear today of those affected by cancer. Over years and still today I’ve had many family members diagnosed, receiving treatment, a survivor or have gone home to be reunited with loved ones.  With families & friends facing these challenges, I would like take a moment to walk, reflect, raise awareness & say ‘ This One’s For You’. Please feel free in donating or joining me in this walk to remember. 

When we step together, we make strides.

Cancer impacts so many of us, and this year, we’re fighting back. Our team are taking on Relay For Life to raise vital funds for people impacted by cancer.

In Australia, around 134,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year. They could be our loved ones, our colleagues, or even ourselves. But we’re determined to make sure more people (and their families!) get the support they need.

To get there, our team are going the distance. We’re taking on the laps so Cancer Council can offer support services to families through one of the most difficult times of their lives.

But like us, your support goes far. Your donation can tackle every aspect of every cancer. Together, we can fund life-changing cancer research, prevention and advocacy — and make powerful strides against cancer in our communities.
