In honour of Winston Foster.
Cancer has touched my life in a very personal way. This year, I’m taking part in Relay For Life in honour of my grandad, Winston Foster, who sadly passed away from lung cancer in 2018.
My grandad was a proud, hardworking man who poured his heart into his music shop — a place that meant so much to him and to our family. That legacy still lives on today, with my dad continuing to run the shop in his honour. It’s a constant reminder of my grandad’s passion, resilience, and the life he built.
In Australia, around 134,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year. Behind every number is a family like mine — people who love deeply, grieve deeply, and carry on in memory of those they’ve lost.
By taking on Relay For Life, I’m walking for my grandad, for my family, and for everyone who has been impacted by cancer. Every lap we take helps Cancer Council provide vital support services, fund life-changing research, and work towards prevention and advocacy — so fewer families have to go through what we did.
Your support, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. Together, we can honour those we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and move closer to a cancer-free future.
Thank you so much for supporting me, my grandad’s memory, and this important cause 🤍
