Walking for Hope, Love, and a Cancer-Free Future
On 11 October, I’ll be joining the Illawarra Relay for Life—an event that means more to me this year than ever before.
Cancer isn’t just a statistic. It has a face, a voice, and a heartbeat. For me, it’s my husband, who is living with Stage IV colorectal cancer. It’s his Uncle, who we lost in 2023. And it’s the countless families like ours who know the heaviness of those three words: “You have cancer.”
Every treatment, every scan, every uncertain moment takes strength—not just from the person fighting, but from their loved ones too. Cancer doesn’t just change one life, it ripples through entire families and communities.
That’s why I’m walking. I’m walking for my husband. I’m walking in memory of his Uncle. And I’m walking for every family who’s had their world turned upside down by this disease.
Relay for Life isn’t just about raising money—it’s about raising hope. Together, we can help fund research that finds better treatments, prevention programs that save lives, and support services that bring light on the darkest days.
Every step I take on that track is for a cancer-free future. But I can’t do it alone. If you’re able, please donate to my Relay today. Your support means more than words can express—not just for me, but for every family touched by cancer.
Thank you for walking this journey with me, even as I hobble along. Together, we can make powerful strides against cancer. 💜
