Our Story
This year, I’ll be undertaking a continuous 24 hour walk in the Bunbury Relay For Life.
Cancer is a disease that touches far too many lives — with around 150,000 Australians diagnosed each year, including someone very close to me. When I was 18, our lives were turned upside down when my Mum, Tracy, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Watching her fight through the first 5 months of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy was something I don't wish upon anyone. Then came the second round - another 3 months of chemo. 6 months after that, we were told that she now had Stage 4 breast cancer in her lung. My beautiful mother now has to take chemo tablets every single day, having an impact on her daily life, for the rest of her life.
But through it all, she showed incredible strength — not just in her fight, but in her commitment to helping others. Year after year, she and her team have walked in the Relay For Life, raising thousands of dollars to support cancer research and services that give hope to families like ours.
It's a small gesture compared to what Mum — and so many others — have endured. But it’s my way of honouring her journey, and contributing to a cause that means everything to us.
Every step I take will be for those who’ve fought, those still fighting, and those we’ve lost. If you’re able to support me, know that your donation will go directly toward making a difference — funding research, supporting patients, and helping families find strength in the darkest of times.
