Sponsors
Thanks to our fantastic sponsors:
Relay For Life is a community event and it would not be possible without the support we receive from our local community. There are a number of local businesses that provide us with monetary and in-kind support.
If you would like your business to become a sponsor of Relay For Life contact Brianna Carracher on 02 6937 2605 or email briannac@nswcc.org.au
Under 18s
Parent or Guardian Consent
If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to have a parent or guardian complete a Parental Consent Form before the event.
This form will be emailed to youth upon registering for the event.
All youth are required to have the consent of their parent/guardian via the form above. Failure to do so will result in the youth being unable to attend the Relay For Life event.
There will be limited on the day registrations available.
Youth Team Supervisors
All participants under 18 years of age are required to have a supervisor over the age of 21 present with their team for the duration of the event.
You must register your supervisor by completing the Youth Supervisor Form that is emailed to you upon registering as a youth. It is the responsibility of the parent, guardian, team captain or youth to ensure the youth supervisor has completed this form.
If a youth team attends Relay For Life without the required number of supervisors over the age of 21, the team will not be able to participate.
Please note that for youth teams, you must have 1 supervisor per 10 youth participants.
If you are a School Team, please contact Brianna Carracher – 02 6937 2605 | briannac@nswcc.org.au
COVID-19 information
COVID-19 restrictions and requirements are forever changing, and as a result, this Relay For Life event is subject to change. Here at Cancer Council NSW, we will follow the latest advice and guidelines from the NSW Government to ensure the safety of everyone involved in a Relay For Life 2024.  Â
Relay For Life is a time for our community to come together and celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who are no longer with us and fight back against cancer.
If you or anyone you love has ever heard the words ‘you have cancer’, you know how much if affects us and the people around us. None should face cancer alone, so whether you’re a Survivor or Carer, getting involved in your local Relay For Life can introduce you to others who are facing similar challenges and create opportunities for sharing stories, friendship and hope.
To honour your inspiring journey, you’re invited to be our Guest of Honour at Relay For Life.
You can choose to walk in the Survivor and Carer’s Lap of Honour or just come along for the celebrations.
Our communities wouldn’t be the same without you, so thank you!
If you are having trouble registering, please contact Brianna Carracher by calling 02 6937 2605 or email briannac@nswcc.org.au
RELAY AMBASSADORS
Our Relay Committees often invite a local community member who has been touched by cancer to attend the event and play a special role in their Ceremonies. These incredible people have often had a cancer experience, utilised Cancer Council NSW services or undertaken the vital role of caring for someone with cancer.
Impact
Cancer Council NSW connects with communities across the state by providing support to those affected by cancer, advocating for change, engaging fundraisers, and helping people reduce their cancer risk.
Cancer Council Western NSW delivers the SunSmart skin protection program in schools and early childhood centres and delivers Cancer Talks to our communities; a package of presentations on a range of cancer and Cancer Council NSW related topics. For those people wanting to pack a healthy lunchbox we have the Healthy Lunchbox Builder website which is an interactive tool for adults and children alike to plan and pack healthy lunch. Cancer Council Western NSW has a fully funded vehicle based in Griffith for the Transport To Treatment program which provides FREE transport for eligible cancer patients and their carers from Griffith and surrounding communities up to 200km away to treatment at Griffith, Wagga or Albury. This program aims to assist those people in greatest need across the region. In 2021, this transport service provided 241 trips to Griffith residents with over 46,000 kms driven and 653 hours volunteered by our drivers.
We co-own and fund accommodation service Lilier Lodge in Wagga for cancer patients and families. It provides home-away-from-home accommodation in the Riverina for patients and their families travelling for cancer treatment. Residents from Griffith and communities use this accommodation regularly as it is often too hard to do a return trip home when undergoing treatment.
Cancer Council Western NSW drive many advocacy campaigns that are aimed at improving cancer outcomes in the community and include recent successes such as banning smoking in public areas, the banning of sunbeds, and for all primary public schools to have a sun protection policy. We're working towards a cancer free future by conducting and funding world-class research, preventing cancer, supporting people affected by cancer and advocating to ensure that the governments take action. Together, with our volunteers, supporters, stakeholders and staff, we are committed to reducing the impact of cancer, now and into the future.
