Haileybury College 2026

Welcome to Haileybury’s first ever Relay For Life!

Relay is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services. It’s a chance for the community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, those going through a cancer experience and their carers, to honor and remember loved ones lost and to raise money to help save more lives. Join the thousands of Australians who take part in Cancer Council’s Relay For Life each year and make strides towards a cancer free future: start or join a team in the 2026 Relay today!

Event and Fundraising Tips

Here are some of our favourite fundraising and event tips!

    Fundraising tips

    • Organise a raffle and put a call out to your connections to donate prizes. Participants can then sell tickets.
    • Host a BBQ, bake sale or morning tea, along with your Mini Relay.
    • Promote the Relay by using our fundraising posters and display around your local community or school.

    Event tips

    • Use local organisations or your school’s sporting equipment to create obstacles throughout the track.
    • Line the Relay track with handmade candle bags by using our candle bag template.
    • Create a team baton to use at the event by using the baton template.
    • Ask your participants to create and decorate their own box car to travel around the track in.
    • Create a HOPE sign or banner to be displayed at your Relay.
    • Ask everyone to dress head to toe in purple and host a best dressed competition.
    • Get SunSmart with Sid, download our SunSmart resources and educate your students on the importance of prevention.

    Survivors and Carers

Relay for Life is a time for our community to come together and celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who are no longer with us and fight back against cancer.

If you or anyone you love has ever heard the words "You have cancer", you know how much it affects us and the people around us. None of us should ever have to face cancer alone, so whether you’re a Survivor, Carer or even a Fighter, getting involved in your local Relay for Life can introduce you to others who are facing similar challenges and create opportunities for sharing stories, friendship, and hope.

To acknowledge your journey through cancer, you’re invited to be our Guest of Honour at Relay for Life. Register Now to walk in the Survivors, Fighters and Carers Lap of Honour or just come along for the celebrations!

If you are having trouble registering, please contact our support team on 1300 65 65 85 or email [email protected]

    Parent or Guardian

If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to complete the Youth Consent Form. This form is triggered within the registration process. You will need your parent/guardian available when registering to confirm consent and their email address. The consent form confirmation will be sent to your guardian.

All youth are required to have the consent of their parent/guardian. Failure to do so will result in the youth being unable to attend the Relay For Life event.

    Youth Team Supervisors

All participants under 18 years of age are required to have a supervisor over the age of 21 present with their team for the duration of the event. You must register your supervisor by completing the Youth Supervisor Form that is emailed to you upon registering a youth. It is the responsibility of the parent, guardian, team captain or youth to ensure the youth supervisor has completed this form. If a youth team attends Relay For Life without the required number of supervisors over the age of 21, the team will not be able to participate. Please note that for youth teams, you must have 1 supervisor per 10 youth participants.

If the youth team consists of more than 10 youth participants, Cancer Council Victoria requires that two adult supervisors be present at all times throughout the Relay For Life event.
