Reasons to Relay

Just a few "Reasons to Relay" to motivate you to sign up for your local Relay For Life.

Move your body – exercise

Did you know that you can lower your risk of cancer by being physically active every day, so why not add Relay to your list of ways to get active. You may be a beginner, so a great way to get ready for Relay is taking daily walks, no matter how long or short they are – every little bit helps.

It’s for a great cause

Every single donation counts, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a gold coin donation or $500 donation. Every donation is generous and all funds go to State and Territory Cancer Council’s around Australia to fund research, prevention and support services.

Community event

Relay celebrates cancer survivors, carers, and their friends and families – bringing communities together at Relay’s across Australia almost every weekend of the year. Each Relay is a local event, with local sponsors, organisers and Relayers who all come together to unite against cancer.

Team event

Relay For Life is a team event, filled with families and friends coming together to do their part to fight cancer. It’s also a great opportunity to get your workplace together and form a corporate team – it’s great for team building and socialising with your colleagues whilst supporting a great cause and the community.

Support and fight back

Individual and team fundraising gives you a project to focus on, especially if someone you know is or has been affected by cancer. Getting involved in Relay allows you to proactively support people impacted by cancer with a network of people with a common goal.
