Launceston 2024

Relay For Life is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention and supportive care services. Relay is a chance for the community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, those going through a cancer experience and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost and to raise money to help save more lives. All funds raised in Tasmania, stay in Tasmania. Join the thousands of Australians who take part in Cancer Council’s Relay For Life each year and make strides towards a cancer free future: start or join a team in the 2024 Launceston Relay today!

Youth Policy

The Cancer Council requires that every person under the age of 18 must have approval by a parent or guardian to register for and participate in Relay For Life events.

Youth Teams

Cancer Council Tasmania requires that teams where the majority of members are under 18 must have two registered adult supervisors present at all times throughout the Relay For Life event. Youth Team Supervisors must be over 21 years of age and are responsible for the behaviour and conduct of the youth they oversee.

Code of Conduct for Youth Teams

We want all participants to enjoy their Relay For Life experience. Common sense is key to everyone having a good time. This means considering and being respectful of the needs of other participants, abiding by the event rules and complying with all reasonable requests from members of the organising committee or Cancer Council Tasmania staff.

How we helped in the last year

$5.8 million+  has been invested into cancer research over the past 26 years.

253,892 is the number of times our prevention messages were seen online by Tasmanians.

66,800 Tasmanian children (and their families) are part of the SunSmart program in childcare and schools across the state.

500+ wigs are now available to those experiencing hairloss due to cancer treatment

$30,000 of Seize the Day Scholarships were awarded to 29 brave young people who have been impacted by cancer.

238,000km's were covered by our transport2treatment drivers - that's the equivalent of driving around the world nearly 6 times!
